Week of September 15

First Friday Santa Fe Art Walk. Rest. Cops Fighting Cancer CrossFit Charity Competition.

Every first friday in Englewood/Denver on Santa Fe and Kalamath there is an Art Walk where food trucks line the streets, drinking is encouraged, and all of the art studios stay open late. Its fun to see all of the different types of art, try new food, and be with friends. We did this and then on Saturday- although we both wanted to party with friends who were downtown watching college football, we stayed in and made sure we rested up knowing we had our first team competition on Sunday. From 12-4 we participated in the Cops Fighting Cancer CrossFit Charity Competition and out of 18 teams we finished in 8th place. There were four workouts, a lot of money was raised for charity, and even after our sweaty day we still made it a point to go to the grocery store right after the competition. This is one fault people can fall into- going home after a long day and saying you’ll go to the store tomorrow. And then tomorrow becomes Wednesday, or Thursday and you find yourself eating out every day spending more money and eating unhealthy. Just go to the store, and make your meals. You will be glad you did come Monday morning.

With that- our meals were simple and on track. For our lunches we did a Greek Garbanzo Salad with Grilled Chicken, and then a Crock Pot Stew. This is very similar to our Crock Pot Pot Roast, but we just added more veggies. It was very good- you have to try it out. We also went outside of the box and decided to make Grilled Salmon in Foil and a very hot Beef & Pork Spicy Soup. Guten Appetit!
