Week of September 8

Once again, this weekend was just as busy as last. On Friday night we had Dan’s mom, sister, and niece over at our house for dinner, on Saturday we had a house warming party and a surprise birthday party, and on Sunday it was the Rocky Mountain Showdown where CU beat CSU 41- 27 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Since it was Labor Day weekend, both of us had Monday off and we celebrated by recovering from the busy weekend and enjoyed a nice BBQ over at Kyla’s parents’ house. Most of our weekends always seem busy and it feels like we are on go constantly, but we enjoy seeing our friends and family as much as possible.

For our meals this week we went to our recipe book and found some oldies but goodies. For about three months now we have both cut out processed carbs in our lunches, but due to Dan losing weight and not trying to (just ridiculous right?!?!), we decided to add some back into our lunches and are trying to increase his portion of protein. This meal came from Men’s Health and it has ground turkey, kale and a bunch of other goodies. Our other lunch was one that we have posted before, and is one we go back to often – Pot Roast. For our dinners, you’ll have to check out what we did, and leave us some feedback on how you either made it your own, or if you enjoyed it just how it was! Guten Appetit!

Kyla: 2 hard boiled eggs, 10 grapes, Americano

Dan: Egg sandwich, Whey protein shake with almond milk

Apples with almond butter

Ground Turkey & Kale Pasta Dish

Pot Roast

Dinners

Salmon Our Way

Grilled Burgers, no bun, topped with onions, guacamole, & tomatoes

Steaks with a homemade spicy dry rub
