Week of August 18

Any normal person, almost 95% of our friends, on Sunday mornings wake up and say, “I am never drinking again.” We on the other hand wanted to add something at the end, “… and NEVER eat Tostinos pizzas again.” We went out with a group of friends and after a few rounds of Moscow Mules we decided the only thing that would soak up the alcohol would be Tosintos pizzas. So at 1am we warmed up four Tostinos pizzas and devoured them in a matter of minutes; that’s right, I said FOUR!

Needless to say we were excited to get back to our normal routine and be a little more health conscious as soon as possible. Making our grocery list this week was a little easier than last because we wanted meals that were quick and easy but ones we knew we enjoyed. For our lunches we wanted to have one crockpot meal (Pork Green Chili Soup) and one meal that we would cook on the stove top (Chicken with Sweet Potatoes & Zucchini). For our dinners we grilled brats on Monday night and made the BEST sauerkraut we’ve ever had in the States (it has been awarded a German seal of approval from Dan’s Mom who is a German native). There was plenty of leftovers for two of our dinners for the week and we had our normal “Salmon Our Way” meal. Thursday we picked up a rotisserie chicken from Whole Foods, and enjoyed the meal knowing we didn’t have to clean up any cooking dishes afterwards.
